President’s Letter

September 2015

Welcome Orange County NCMA members, students and future members. This is my first stint as President of the Orange County chapter—and I know I have big shoes to fill. Derik Hahn, Colleen Johnston, and Melissa Schmaltz have done a marvelous job.

We are in the process of finalizing our program for the rest of the year with NEW announcements to be shared at each and every meeting.   We expect to celebrate the month of November by honoring Veteran’s from throughout Orange County. The specific date, time speaker and cost have not yet been finalized but we hope to have details by the time of the October meeting. Finally, to round out the year we will have special events happening around the December timeframe so stay tuned. A housekeeping detail: Please help us out by RSVPing early to all of these events so that we can plan for room size and activities. If you are not going to attend please let us know.

We are always looking for volunteers and suggestions for future topics and meeting location and dates, so if you have any suggestions please let us know. Please check our web page as we continue to populate it and improve upon it over the next few months. And of course we are always looking for mentoring opportunities for students who are new to the world of contracting.

Our small band of officers, and I look forward to meeting those of you we don’t already know.   And we hope that you will join us by volunteering and helping to mold the chapter for the future.

I have always been proud of our accomplishments in educational outreach and as a professional resource and I am also happy to be a member of a group where we can just get together to network, socialize, and maybe even just to vent about x, and y.

I look forward to partnering with you all to have a great year.

Debra Hunter-Bonner, President
