Chapter Elections for Program Year 2014-2015
NCMA Orange County Chapter
The NCMA Orange County Chapter is seeking volunteers and candidates for the Board of Directors for the 2014-2015 program year. If you have been seeking opportunities to become more involved, but did not know what you could do, now is your chance!
Chapter elections will be held electronically between May 1st to the 10th, 2014. The final results will be announced at our May 15th Chapter Meeting. We are looking for candidates and volunteers to fill the following elected offices for a one year term starting July 1, 2014:
Member at Large
Our current board of directors includes acquisition and contracting representatives from government and private sector organizations.
Candidates must possess strong ethics, integrity, passion and a desire to serve a cause that will benefit our profession and the entire community. They must also be current members in good standing with the NCMA Orange County Chapter and maintain membership throughout their term.
If you are interested in serving on the board in one of the elected positions above or in a volunteer role to support our Certification, Annual Education Symposium (AES), Hospitality, Technology and/or Membership efforts, please email the Orange County Board of Directors at email@example.com and include a statement regarding the position or role you are interested in pursuing along with a brief bio and resume. We are accepting nominations through April 28, 2014.
In order to vote in the 2014-2015 election, you must be a member in good standing with Orange County Chapter and must respond to the electronic ballot by May 10, 2014. There will not be an option to voteby proxy.
NCMA Orange County Chapter Officers
President – Works with the chapter’s officers and advisors and has the overall responsibility for the successful operations of the chapter.
Vice-President – Assists the President and provides the leadership for the Annual Education Symposium
Secretary – Prepares and maintains the meeting minutes and chapter records
Treasurer – Helps establish the annual budget, maintains the chapter’s financial records, receives and deposits all revenues and pays approved invoices.
Member at Large – The MAL represents the general membership on issues of interest or concern. The MAL works with the board to identify potential problems and opportunities that may further the goals of the organization or to develop services for the membership. The MAL can serve as chair of the committees formed below. The MAL listens to membership and communicates their issues, needs and interests to the Board of Directors.
In addition to the above specific duties of the office, all chapter officers are expected to organize and coordinate dinner speakers, grant proposals, educational seminars and other chapter programs throughout the year.
Appointed Volunteer Positions (by New Board of Directors)
Hospitality Chair – Prepares registration materials (certificate, receipts) for monthly chapter workshops and prepares monthly meeting invites.
Membership Chair – Helps chapter officers with recruitment and retains membership records.
AES Chair – Coordinates and organizes the chapter’s Annual Education Symposium along with Vice President.
Certification Chair – Assists members with preparations for NCMA Certifications.
Technology/Webmaster Chair – Maintains chapter website and social media sights.
**Each officer is expected to attend the monthly chapter workshop and dinner meetings, board of directors meetings and summer planning sessions as well as perform the duties of their office.**
